Traveling Reunion update

Posted by sundruid on February 3, 2009

Hi MHS Grads & Spouse and Friends of MHS Grads: It appears our first memorandum to you concerning the 2009 MHS Traveling Reunion in Primm was a little (we hope only a little) confusing. The group rate for the rooms is good for the nights of Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5 The Reunion activities are planned for Monday (thus early Monday arrival is appropriate) and Tuesday – thus it is planned that we will check out Wednesday, May 6. OK? Sorry about the confusion!

2009 MHAA Traveling Reunion

Posted by sundruid on January 19, 2009

Hello to all! We hope everyone had a Good 2008 and looking forward to a Great 2009. May is around the corner, so it is time to get the 2009 MHAA Traveling Reunion on our calendars, if not already there, and firm up our plans to attend!! After our reunion last spring in Oklahoma City, several persons mentioned having it closer to Medford in 2009. We, (LeRoy and Marlene Boyer) have inquired around and as of today, we can find no one that has indicated to us that any plans have been made to host the reunion in the Medford area in 2009. That being the case (and as many suggested at the OKC Reunion), Bill Postlewaite has made arrangements to hold the 2009 MHAA Traveling Reunion in Primm, Nevada. A block of rooms for the group has been arranged for the 2009 Reunion as follows: Group: Medford Reunion Group Arrival Date: 05/04/09 – Monday Departure Date: 05/05/09 – Tuesday Hotel: Primm Valley Resort Room Rate: $39.95 + tax [Single or double] The group rate of $39.95+ tax is for the Primm Valley Deluxe Room. Bill found the rate less expensive on Monday and Tuesday than on weekends; thus the Monday and Tuesday arrival and departure dates. If you plan to arrive early and/or leave later, please be advised that the Pre and Post Dates will be at prevailing rack rates. To make your reservations, call 1-800-386-7867 and refer to the group code SCM0505. The cut-off date for reservations for the above rate is April 26, 2009. Medford High School had great weather for Homecoming 2008. The Homecoming Committee carefully planned and worked to make the 2008 Homecoming “another success story”. Really great to be from and call Medford our “hometown” even though many of us live elsewhere. We certainly hope to see many, many of you at Primm on Monday and Tuesday, May 4-5, 2009, for another fantastic MHAA Traveling Reunion. PLEASE CALL AND MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS. LeRoy and Marlene Boyer

2008 Medford High School Traveling Reunion

Posted by sundruid on March 10, 2008

To: All Medford High School Graduates and Spouses
The following was published in the Medford Patriot Star on January 30, 2008 and on February 6, 2008:
==========================================================
Arrangements have been made for the 2008 Medford High School Traveling Reunion. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Courtyard by Marriott-OKCNW, Oklahoma City, for Friday, April 18, 2008 and Saturday, April 19, 2008.
Reservations may be made by calling (405) 848-0808 at the Oklahoma City location or 1-800-321-2211 the Marriott Reservation Line. Be sure to specify the Medford High School Traveling Reunion to receive the special rate of $89.00. Reservations must be made by April 5, 2008. All MHS graduates are invited to the reunion.
Plans are being made for ‘a dinner get-together’ for both Friday and Saturday nights. We need to know how many plan to attend each of the dinners so reservations can be made.
A list of “Things To Do and See” in the area will be sent via email. Anyone that does not have email but would like to have the information, please furnish us your address.
This traveling reunion started after a ‘get-together’ in Blackwell several years ago. Since then the group has met in Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico and Arkansas. We hope more graduates will join the group this year since we are ‘gathering’ in OKLAHOMA.in 2008.
For additional information please contact Warren & Carol Beggs in Medford or George & Barbara Peitz-Newton or LeRoy & Marlene Ciskowski-Boyer in Oklahoma City.
==========================================================.
NOW is the time to make your reservations (if you have not already made them). April 5 is coming SOON!
Also we need to give a count to the restaurants for those attending the dinners on Friday night and Saturday night. Friday night reservations are being made at a restaurant in Bricktown (we will send you the name and address next time). For Saturday night, we have reserved a private dining room from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm – this will allow all to remain and visit and enjoy getting re-acquainted with those attending the traveling reunion for the first time (this special place is close to the Marriott)..
Please advise us via email, snail mail or phone if you will be attending one or both of the dinners. PLEASE by April 5. Our telephone number is (405) 842-2442; our email is lboyer@flash.net and our mailing address is 2641 NW Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73116.
We also suggest (and thank you in advance) you forward this to anyone from the Great City of Medford that you see we have “missed” on our list. [Please CC us so that we can add him/her or them to our address book for future messages].
Looking forward to seeing everyone April 18th and 19th. [Bill, what do you think about the ORANGE?]
LeRoy and Marlene

January 2006 Officer Meeting Minutes

Posted by sundruid on April 20, 2007

The 2006 Alumni Committee members met for the first time this year at the home of Evelyn Keith on Monday, January 9, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Donna Frazier, Class of 1982, President; Sheryl Hern Schmitz, Class of 1965, Vice-President; Evelyn Osburn Keith, Class of 1955, Secretary; Darla Subera, Class of 1961, Treasurer; and Norma Osburn, Class of 1954; Member at Large. Absent was Jeanette Feist Loch, Class of 1957, Banquet Chairman. It was noted that Homecoming 2006 will be September 22 and 23, 2006. The football game on Friday night will be Medford vs Waynoka at 7:30 p.m. Activities will be planned for Saturday.

Discussion was held on sending postcards now to the alumni membership about the Homecoming date for 2006. It would cost $220 to mail them not counting the cost of printing. It was decided to put the date on the mhaa.org web site, the mhaa groups e-mail along with the notice in the Medford paper of the date.

Darla Subera reported the amount in the checking account is $3,931.54. It was also noted two second semester scholarships will be paid this month to Bradley States for $500 and Andrea Conley Johnson for $500.

Donna Frazier reported Debbie Hula Kretchmar, Class of 1970 will be Parade Chairman and Terri Bailey Misak, Class of 1982 will be Registration Chairman for 2006.

Discussion was held on ways to draw more people to the Banquet. It was decided to try to get entertainment from the classes of 80′s, 90′s, and 2000′s and to have several alumni entertain instead of having a speaker in hopes it will draw in some of the younger alumni to the banquet. If there are any volunteers in the crowd, please let us know.

Discussion was held to Honor all MHS Alumni Classes that end in 6. Therefore the classes of 1926, 1936, 1946, 1956, 1966, 1976, 1986, 1996, and 2006 will be honored this year. We will start in April putting articles and pictures in the Medford Patriot Star about these classes. Anyone that has pictures and articles to share about these classes should contact Evelyn Keith at 580-395-2392 or e-mail information to ekeith@wiredok.com.

The next meeting will be held on March 6, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Evelyn Keith.

Hopefully the information about the honor classes will begin in the Medford Patriot Star the first part of April. Norma offered to secure information from the class members of 1956 and 1966.

Discussion was held on the Alumni Banquet/ Program and Business Meeting.

Discussion was held on the gift that will be given away by a ticket drawing for alumni that register and pay dues. A ticket with a number on it will be given to each alumnus that register and pay dues at Homecoming. This gift is given away at a drawing held at half-time of the football game. Alumni that pay dues by mail should pick up a ticket at the registration table on Friday evening before half time to be eligible for this drawing. The type of gift will be decided at the next meeting.

The next meeting will be held April 24, 2006 at 7p.m. at the Catholic Church Basement.

Respectfully submitted

Evelyn Keith, Secretary
